I love that snare! Love the song Tim! It has a Groovy vibe to me. This sounds really good on my Bose system. I think I'll re-listen late nite with the blue lite and smoked Becan!

Though this is drenched in reverb, I think it's appropriate, and it doesn't muddy the song at all.  What I really like about this song is that it's so different than some of your other songs.  I love unpridictability!  Your growth as a songwriter and producer inspires me to try to write something different.  Keep up the good work!

    All the best,

this reminds me of a cross between howard smith, tears from fears and something else i can't quite put my fingers on...maybe rundgren utopia era...

    dig the song...
mixwise, the first twinkling guitars or samples, at :52,  is just too aggressive in the mix, and then the guitar solo is just blended in real nice....
i'd try to brighten the vox a bit as well, give it a bit more clarity with some highs

on the ending, i'd love to hear a reverb tail on..... something...
it's ambient thru most of it, then the last two chord accents are bone dry.
maybe a repeated delay in time with the song, on the last chord...

Well this is certainly very creative . I gave it a couple of listens and I like some sections better than others..
I can see starting the way you did and keeping the momentum through the song with the main theme...
I almost feel at times while I was listening that a subtle shift in instrumentation in places would bring it up a notch...
I don't want to sound cliche by saying this but I think a dose of world instruments substituted in a few places where it is typical synth might be an interesting experiment or tech to  try …
one's musical vision is one's musical vision and it is possible that it may be the last thing you would want to do , yet I was able to hear that while the song played and that is the only reason I have mentioned it ...

I'm still not entirely clear about the songs message ...
is this song about a sincere quest / spiritual journey ? or is it mocking a herd mentality nouveau riche what's in vogue
    style of spirituality ….

I did enjoy this a lot  so I'm just asking , because I need clarifcation ...

Sorry it took me so long to get back here guys. I really appreciate the listens and the comments.

I am on my third version of this...having replaced it multiple times on SC. I think I have it pretty close now.

Daryl- Trippy....you aren't the first to say that about this song. FWIW I was drug free when I wrote it. Imagine what would happen if I wasn't :)

Bayoubill- I'm glad you liked how it sounded. If it sounds good on a Bose, then I must almost have this thing whipped.Disclaimer- I am in no way encouraging drug use though the use of this song. Thanks for listening!

Lynn- Thanks for listening. I had contemplated removing some of that verb, but as you say...it seemed to fit here, although I did automate the tails to clean it up in places. Thanks for your comments. Yes I am constantly trying to stretch what I think I'm capable of. This one kind of came out on the edge :)

Batsbrew- Thanks!! I did add some reverb back into the ending and I like your idea. It seemed to make it shine a little more. I had wondered if that guitar was too much. Part of me almost oplayed with it, but so far I haven't touched it. I plan to look into that though...maybe it will be upload/replacement number 4.FWIW I changed the guitar solo to a synth..a kind of wild synth. Seemed to fit better there, but it is also  odd.

Guitarpima- Thanks! Some of that might be that I used my new Black Velvet kit from AD2...I love that kit. It really rocks!

Kenny- Thanks for listening! You aren't the first to suggest using other instruments, so that's what I did. I added some other parts to it...even a vocoder. I had to play with it some because the mix was starting to get dense at 20 something tracks...I think I have finally made it fit better...made some room to breathe better in the mix. I hear you on using world instruments... I'm probably too far along to change this one, but I am working on another one with more of that feel and not as weird lol.
The meaning of the song is intended to be a personification of Wisdom much as I did with love/charity in my "Charity Smiles" song. I was afraid that it would slant toward middle eastern thought and this wasn't entirely my idea here...I was trying to show that wisom could come from an old man on a mountain...or from the tire changer at K-mart....lots of wise people all around...the message is simply..look for wisdom..find it and be wise...and wisdom isn't always in the places that some think it's in.

Definitely trippy for me too...  in a good way.

I like the reverb and it does have a bit of that eighties synth band thing going on, which suits it well IMO.   The "jangly" part near the beginning is a little loud for me but otherwise I think the mix is working for the song.   Love the "orchestra hits" during the outro.

Oh... and this makes me want to try out the Black Velvet kit - I have yet to use it!

I like the way you use the instruments, it's kind of unexpected. Yeah I liked the drum sound too, don't have that kit .

This is bad ass. The beatz, the bassline, so many sounds, really unexpected and interesting and thats why so many people like it.

Crits, nothing really. For a first listen, there were probably too many changes. I like the way the rhythm changed up on that first " In Wongo" but then it stopped, I wanted it to go on longer and harder!

Awesome work, Im impressed. Do you have any other cool backing tracks like that??!
