Matix and matching project tempo

Hey all. I want to start using the matrix for some projects and can't figure out how to sync the audio loops that I drag in, to the project tempo. When I audition them in the browser they match the project tempo, it's just when I assign them to a cell that they don't play back at project tempo.
If someone could please point me in the direction of an answer that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Charlie

Could it be the audio loop being previewed is a one shot wav? If so drag the wave to an audio track, convert the clip to a groove clip (CTRL-L) then drag the groove clip to the matrix.

Yes, the Matrix view needs groove clips or REX2 clips in order to match the project tempo.
