My 3 favorite things about windows

1) You can see out of them
2) You can see in of them
3) They don't smell of anything in particular

They have developed transparent solar cells.
In the future :

4) They make electricity.

I've seen some of that technology.  I think Duke University even has some material that can be sewed into your shirt so all you need to do to power your phone or iPOD is to plug in and walk outside.  I can't wait until the technology becomes a lot more mature (same with creating fuel from green algea).  It's going to be pretty interesting!

University of Michigan has them at about 1% efficiency right now.

Once they reach 5% they will be usable commercially,  a lot of potential in skyscrapers.

I know they've tried using them with roof shingle material but, like everything solar, it's by far the least viable alternative power source (hydro is the best being almost 1000 times better than wind which is still many times better than solar).

Pistolpete called me on the phone earlier today, and I noticed that he was in a really bad mood.

"What's the matter my intellectually subnormal friend?" I enquired.

"Well Strummy" he replied, "I just don't understand the feckin' police round here. The woman over the road stands naked in her window watching me having a wank and, apparently... I'm the pervert."
