Is moving/resizing/undocking Track View possible?

In pre-X series, I would place track view on second monitor and console view on primary.  I would like to do this with X3 without making secondary monitor primary.  Is it possible?

Thanks

You can't undock the Track View, but you can put Sonar in the second monitor, then undock the Console and place it in the primary monitor.

Sure, sure....but not happy about that; changes the way I have been using since Pro Audio product days.

I'm able to do that...console view in the 2nd monitor, track view in the primary.  Not sure why the other way around would really be that different though.  Was just my preference I guess at the time.

If this is the only change you find disturbing consider yourself lucky.

I don't understand why having the track view in the secondary monitor and console view in the primary monitor would impact your workflow, since it seems that's what you want if I read your first post correctly?

Am I missing something?  I thought I was able to put the console view and track view in what ever monitor you want.....not to mention making whatever monitor you want to be your primary as well.

That sounds right to me, Mix. It all boils down to which monitor is plugged into which port. Generally there is the graphics card default but Windows can override that and make either the primary. Even so it doesn't matter because as long as you do not have a program maximized it is simple to move it over to the other screen. In Windows 8 the monitor where you close the program will be where it will open up the next time you open it.

Its been so long ago that I can't remember if XP had that ability but I know Vista did and I'm sure Windows 7 has it too.

To me and I thnk most others see this as a non issue.

    Best

You both got it right. I don't see what the issue is either.

I guess the only different thing would be the location of the menu bar.

Heck,if i'm workin with the track view or the console,i have matching monitors so I just drag the console or track view all the way across to the other monitor using a screen set or the console on one screen, the track view on the other or vice versa....

Same here. I usually have the console view about half the size of my left monitor, then start track view (no inspector) and set it so that the end of the track name bit (where the actual timeline starts) lines up exactly with the split between the monitors. Gives me a lot of working space and still lets me access most things very quickly. I have the console undocked for this, obviously. I use (SHIFT+)D to quickly maximize and hide the dock when Melodyning and editing midi and the like. Took me a while to adjust to SkyLight, but I'm loving it now.
