Same problem here.....haven't been able to get it figured out since the new forum software /account structure. I'm sure it's something simple but I can no longer do it with the ease of the old method....

I have been sending and receiving private messages all along - do not see a problem for my account, or for those I have/am interacting with.
This is not meant as a 'works for me - nana nana boo boo' response - while it does work for me, I do not have a nana nana boo boo mentality. :)
When did you start having trouble sending/receiving private messages?

Absolutely PM broken here.....
I have tried to send a PM to a forum's member but in my box there isn't a sent message...
I'm in Firefox 31.........

Have you tried PMing another member? Perhaps you've been blocked? You can sending me one if you wish to test it.

Perhaps you're not keeping sent messages. That's an option you can select or deselect. Check your settings.
Last section looks like this:
Private Message Preference
✓Allow others to send me PM
✓Receive PM Notification by email
✓Receive Popup Notification about new PM
✓Always save sent PM
Always request PM read receipt

click the little blue arrow next to the avatar of the person you want to message.
this will give you a list of options, 1 is message.
or am I reading your question wrong ?
