how to smooth out "cut parts"

I am recording piano and I wanted certain interval between 2 notes to be longer.
So I cut in the middle and dragged the second note further back.

But since piano pedal resonates until the second note hits, I filled the gap with the resonating part at the end first note.
The problem is where there is split, I can hear a little bit of pausing noise. Is there any way to get rid of it?

I'd  really appreciate your advice.
Thnx

You could try dragging the resonated clip to where it overlaps the end of the first note just a little. When you do this it should automatically create a crossfade right at the overlap. That should smooth it out for you. Play with the amount of overlap until you get the sound you like. I hope that was helpful.

You could also try splitting the clip to isolate the sustain part, and Ctrl+Slip Edit the right side to join the next note - that will lengthen the duration.   If there are any audible artifacts from the short time expansion, bounce that one clip using one of the better Radius algorithms.    More info here:
