High and lonesome- **DELETED**

**Update, due to the fact that a backing track was used for instrumentation (rare for me, but I did do it and stated that) and my clicking the "I accept the terms and conditions" button. Evidently is said something to the effect you may only perform to this music while in the shower and please do not post that video on-line under any condition." Or something like that, so I had to yank it. Working on building a backing track to repost, sorry.

Yes, it's a description of the song too?

I haven't pooped one out in a day before, so it was fun to work on this today. It's not perfect, but hey, it's grass :-) I actually went with a stock backing track and sang over it. Always loved this one. (and I slept till 2, so I worked on it for about 5 hours with other activities :-)

Pushed the LV just a bit more.

Nice one Robbie! I've always loved that song too. When I first saw the song title, I thought you covered the Sweet song. But I think you did awesome on this.

    Hi Robbie,
As usual your vocals shine bright. And that is a pretty cool number to cover.
    Cheers,

:-) So fun to do one in a day? Vs. a month and a half?

    You gotta love technology.

I'm talking about comping, I have nothing against people who use harmonizes? Or vocal editors? I don't have the former, and try not to use the later? But I respect people who do so, "it's a tool?"  Man I enjoyed cranking this out today :-) I hope everyone who listens enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed singing it. It's a bluegrass classic? (from the 70s) Really a wonderful tune, done by "hundreds of artists." Literally! "hundreds..."

You can go to youtube, and enter "Like a fox on the run" Bluegrass

And you'll see. That's what makes it a classic. I am only hopeful that my contribution was better than most... Or at least some?

Obviuosly it's good if not great anytime we make a great piece of music it elevates our mood (or is it the other way around???)...I believe you are (compared to most musicians) productive and therefore high & lonely. Keep up the good work, Your friend Shawn!

Well it's no Union Station, but it's not bad. That splitting of one syllable into two gets a bit grating though (knows - know-ho's, wine - wah-hine etc). Backing track does sound generic. Interesting how a British rock song got picked up by bluegrass artists.

I love union station! I saw Alison Kraus live when she was 16 :-) She got up on stage with the Seldome Scene live at the Birchmere in Alexandria Va and played the fiddle, she was awesome! You could tell she'd been playing that thing since she was a child. I have tremendous respect for fiddle players, it's an impossible instrument to even attempt to play. And yes! Manfred Mann did it first :-) But it's better as a bluegrass song IMO, and no fewer that 100 grass bands have recorded it. That's a classic! Thanks for stopping by James, and tell Tim I said hello if you speak with him.

It actually came out better than I thought it would? :-) Especially after a few remixes?

I put my own take on it, toward the end, I added some vocal parts. And some harmonies that aren't normally in this tune.

You can catch lightning in a bottle if you're in the right place, at the right time.

I did want to comment on this song as I felt like you deserve kudos for creating such a great, fun mix. It's sublime. (WordWeb says sublime means "1. Worthy of adoration or reverence, or 2. Vaporize then condense right back again"). Very well done Robbie!

Hey there reb, thank you sir, it was a fun one :-) It's fun to go to youtube and type in "fox on the run" with the added parameter -Sweet and scroll through the results of all of the big and small bands that do it. My dad always wanted me to learn to play  the banjo and I never picked it up, even though I do play many other instruments. That banjo seems like it would be tricky. Not as tricky as the fiddle, but it seems like it would be a challenge.

Good times, you've got to love grass. But I also really enjoy almost every genera except maybe rap/hip hop. Not a fan of the rhythmic speaking thug culture. Working on a Gospel tune for Christmas 2014 God willing. It will be in this style.

    BUSTED!

or licensing reasons, it is not permitted to post recordings of The KARAOKE Channel songs on SoundCloud. We ask that you please remove this recording from your SoundCloud account. So if I want to do it, they're going to make me work for it... I may do a version with me playing the instruments and sweat the vocals a bit more.

    -----------------

Started playing the banjo tonight (I hate it, it's too hard. I can play the keys, and lay down a string track, that's easy) The mandolin is fun and not to difficult, the bass flows from me, my first instrument was guitar, I'll probably add a dobro and I may try to land a fiddle playing friend :-) But the damn banjo is going to be days... It has to sound like a banjo player "unfortunately." BIAB may be worth it just to get a banjo player and a pedal steel player, Herb releases some pretty amazing tracks with that stuff.

Unfortunately, it will no longer be pooped out in a day
