Can't open new project in Sonar X3d

Just uninstalled and reinstalled Sonar after discovering that the "E" update didn't like my old NI 32 bit VST's. So I reinstalled SONAR X3 back to the "D" update and everything looked good. However, now when I try to open (even) a new project, I get the error message, "Could not open file. The file may be damaged or incompatible with this version of Sonar.
 
So I'm assuming I have some old confing files that are automatically loading as Sonar loads. Any idea how to get around this?
