Sonar X1 Studio -Problem using Soft-synths for monitoring my Roland TD3KV e-drums.

I recently tried to connect my old Roland e-drumkit to Sonar. After some initial troubles with the closed pedal hihat sound that gave me a a pedal open hihat sound (solved that with an additional midi track routed through a  drummap* to either TTS or SI Drums) I got it working. I'm left with a few problems:
 
The midi which is recording the dynamics (velocity) from all my pads correctly, when played back through the synths does not let me hear this. Every beat has the same volume even though in the midi data it goes from a hard to a soft strike..
 
When I strike the hihat and AFTER that close the pedal, the sound does not get cut-off.
 
Are these issues fixable? Or are these softsynths just not sophisticated enough..
 
Would Session Drummer 2.0 or 3.0 do better?
What's the difference between the three?
Is there 3dparty software that does the job better (for a tight wallet ;-) )
 
Any specific suggestions , or thoughts on the use of e-dumkits with Sonar in general, would be greatly appreciated! 
 
 
* I found that everything (in TTS or SI Drums) on that Note 2G# with a velocity > 115 or 110 gives out the open pedal hihat sound, below gives the closed pedal sound. So I simply made a drummap that lowers the velocity for that note. Not ideal but workable.
