“The sound amplitude, or strength, is very weak,” said Göran Johansson, a co-author of the paper. “Basically, when you excite the atom, it creates a sound, one phonon at a time, according to theory. It’s the weakest possible sound possible at the frequency [that it vibrates].”

Does this mean I need new speaker cables?

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

It's a "D" Note!!!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/12/sound-atom-captured_n_5810124.html

20 octaves higher than the highest note on the piano.

How cool is that!

Word on the Table was that the singer had been fired for being a prima donna and acting like some sort of god particle but, I wouldn’t give that rumor any weight.  It probably had more to do with the fact he could only sing in D.
