All I know is that since I joined FB (because of Wicked Screen Printing) I'm constantly told I have more friends on FB than I think.
 
Seriously; the title of the emails are "You have more friends on Facebook than you think".

My Facebook Newsfeed is actually reminiscent of these forums - lots of unfunny, lots of bacon posts, lots of posts about gear...
 
The advantage is that I get to enter all those sweepstakes - and sometimes win cool gear - and I don't have to sign up for tons of newsletters.
