No effects showing in Process - Apply Effects

Hi,
I upgraded my system to 64 bit (Win 7, from W7 32 bit) and installed the 64 bit version of Sonar X3 Studio.  As I then found out, NONE of my 32 bit DXi plugins would work.

Sob.

So, I dutifully bought Waves NPP Essentials, and they show up in the browser under VST 3 effects.  They also show up in the plug in manager, so do the CW midi effects, as well as various CW and Sonitus DXi effects.

But when I highlight an audio clip and go to Process - Apply Effects, both Audio and Midi effects are grayed out!  Not only that, but nothing at all is showing up in Regional Effects - Melodyne should be showing there!

Not happy.  Any insight would be extremely appreciated.

Is the effect you're trying to apply inserted in the tracks?

    Hi Greg,
No, this is a situation where if I want to apply an effect, I can only do so by right clicking on the clip and then the Insert - Effects - Audio is populated.  But If I want to use Process - apply Effect on a highlighted clip, the Audio and Midi effects are grayed out.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled Melodyne, and it now shows up in regional effects.  Unfortunately, it doesn't have any editing tools!  The toolbar only shows the main tool (the arrow), the hand (scroll) and the magnifying glass (zoom).

This is beyond frustrating.  The 32 bit version worked fine, used all of my plugins, Melodyne worked perfectly.  I'm wasting hours trying to get this bloody thing to just work, when I should be working on music.

Rant over.  Now I need to make it actually work as advertised, or just uninstall the whole damn thing and go back to the 32 bit version.

You can install and use both, when desired.
Try the SONAR X-series forum above for specific advice on X3.

Ok, I'll do that.  I thought this was the proper forum, I see this is more for earlier versions.
