Thinking About a Sticky to Replace "Tip of the Day" - What Say You?

I expect the tip of the day will enter blog-land in October, but had an idea: A thread called "What I Learned about Sonar today." This would be open to all, but of course I would contribute. I picture it as being more Twitter-like - for example:

If you disable recording controllers under MIDI preferences, V-Studio's faders won't alter the onscreen faders.

or...

When you're setting up a mix, it's really convenient to right-click on faders and set their default levels. That way you can mess around like crazy but always get back to a starting point...or change it if you like the new starting point better.

The object would be a lot of really short, helpful tips to help people get the most out of Sonar. If someone posted something that day, you could wait until tomorrow. Or hey, live dangerously and have multiple tips on the same day!

Whaddya think? If you like the concept, I'll talk to the Forum Overlords and see what they think.

I like it. Either you pick a subject or the first poster picks it then subsequent replies must adhere strictly to that subject and consist only of short tips.
What about Tipster of the week ? Start with Bob Bone, Beepster and BitFlipper (just off the top of my head). Give each guy a week to pick a tip of the day subject (and a tip of course). Voluntary participation naturally.

I was picturing something more Twitter-like...add your tip, then move on. Anyone who had a useful tip could participate. For example, this would be what I learned about Sonar today:

The Transient Shaper has significant look-ahead, so adding it to a track really increases latency. Save it for mixing, or render the track using the Transient Shaper.

But this idea doesn't seem to be getting much traction, so maybe an alternate structure would be the way to go.

We could call it the sonar power thread. 😄

Don't take me wrong , but there are so many things people don't know I'm not sure how helpful it would be. It could be a flood of detail....

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

If CW is considering a reorg of the forums it may be a better forum than just one thread.

YES... I was hoping for it. Maybe a thread with the "tip of the week" for a starter then a "tip of the week", from now on. I guess that is up to you though since it would add to your workload. I could certainly use it!

I just about to post a Helpful hints, tips and reminders!
For those little things that just work or save time and frustration.
So, I for one would love to see a sticky.
    I'll start,

The auto save function can be a problem if computing power and memory or background program start up are an issue.
Hit the save button or shortcut ctrl+S after each take .Also after a mix run thru.
Get in the habit before changing the setting or you might regret it.

Another useful remix save is saving project as. Works well to completely start automations from scratch especially if mixing section by section now we can import these differing projects into the main project.

These are by no means new ideas I got them from you guys here etc. But it is like saving projects in a new vector than a linear only one and follows the law;  no two mixes or tracking sessions are the same.

    -------------------------------------------------------
Magic: when you feel inspired to create which in turn inspires more creation.

And the corollary: if magic happens inspiration might flog it to death with numerous retakes.
