Mike, have you ever seen the documentary "Sound City"?

It's REALLY good.  Highly recommended.

Which do you like better Larry, Vol.1 or 2. If I decided to do the upgrade and 1 add pack.

Right now I'd lean towards Vol 2 - only because, for the type of music I do
it would probably work better.

You can't lose with either one...both are very good.

Why the heck wouldn't they call it Sound City?

I would imagine that Fairfax Studio's wants "their" name on it for
licensing reasons...and credit.

The "not so good" part is that the "one of a kind" Neve console built
exclusively for Sound City by Rupert Neve now belongs to Dave Grohl, so won't be
what you hear on these samples...

If you want the neve console and sound city, you'll need to get platinum samples evil drums for BFD. Back on topic, I'll probably grab this. Wish the cymbals in AD sounded a little better.

cclarry you've got me looking at the Fairfax 2 with your reminders and all.

The sample songs and the kit sound really do sound good.

The new video clip is kind of a snoozer / promo about the studio rather than a demo of the kit sounds.

I might go for Vol 2 being this is the last day of the intro sale on it.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Lawa,

I agree...listening to the demos those drums sit nicely in the tracks...

Also, playing with the demo in AD2 it sounds good.

Took the plunge today but I just realized that Rick Derringer is not included.

I'm so depressed. Did I waste $60.27?

I bought vol. 2 yesterday. I like the lumpy dampened toms but I think I'll use other snares mostly. The cymbals are nice variation on those included in vol. 1 which are great IMO. Most of them are called "Iveson Selection". Watching the promo vid I notice that the name of the Aussie drummer playing on these libs is Iveson. Does he cast his own bronze in his garage or what?

Went for it.

Discovered to my surprise that XLN added another kit as available as an option to download (choice provided).  I selected the Session Percussion kit.

So, I ended up with Session Percussion and Fairfax Vol 2, at the discount price of Vol 2.  I'm satisfied!

I think I had cleaned out any giveaways that had occurred before.

Retracing my steps, a couple nights ago I read about refreshing my XLN installer, so I did that then.

See:
http://forum.cakewalk.com...er-again-m3090168.aspx

So there were a couple updates that happened at that time.

Then today I picked up Fairfax Vol 2. I was logged in and put in the discount code.

I think after I clicked use discount code it put me back to the AdPacks page and there was a not so obvious black button that said Deal Pack. I didn't know what it was but I clicked it and it allowed me to pick another Ad Pack for $0. So all told, $62.07. Fairfax Vol 2 and the extra pack, where I had selected the Session Percussion.

I'm resisting.I'm sure it is great, but I need to save my pennies now.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I played my snare drum yesterday and smiled when I reflected on how much money I was saving. :-)

Your snare drum was free then?
