New UAD release: AMS RMX16 Reverb

After months and months of waiting, UAD users finally have the chance to try the emulation of the legendary AMS RMX16 reverb, developed by the original hardware designers at AMS Neve.

This is big news for reverb junkies ... there are convolutions from this unit in Altiverb, but AFAIK there have been no full re-creations in software form until now.  Perhaps the most famous RMX algorithms are the NonLin types, which give that '80s gated drum sound -- some algorithmic plugins have similar settings, but none has yet fully captured that sound (IMHO), although it'll be interesting to see how the imminent update to Valhalla Vintage Verb, which includes some new nonlin algorithms, compares to this plugin.

Now for the bad news:  the price is $349, which matches what UA asks for the Lex 224 plugin.  Such is life for UAD fans.

Also in this release, the Softube Summit TLA-100 compressor is being made available on the UAD platform, for $199.  Nice compressor!

Cheers,
Eddie
