Burn (NellyRene') Done in Sonar X3

Hey guys.
Here is another one from NellyRene'. It's a song she wrote and I did everything on except the guitar. The guitar is my friend who can shred pretty well. WARNING....It is a Christian song. I used Superior 2 for drums, Trillian for bass, and a few other soft synths. The guitar is playing through Amplitube. Just tryin to iron out a few kinks on these song, and would like some opinions. Thanks

I like the song. It's a nice bit of cool rock!

I think the mix needs some cleaning up though. It seems of balance and lacks clarity IMO. Of course, I'm still learning myself.

    Well done!!!

Hmm, well it's nice production and all that.  Vocals are mixed way too high for my taste, but she sounded nice, the guitar playing was good.

Sounds like a few mix tweaks would help this as noted by Guitarpima, it all sounds on top of everything else try some subtle little pans or if you have access to some Mid-Side processing use to position voices/instruments on the sound stage.

Nice song!  Mix sounds decent here, just needs a little more "clarity" as mentioned above.  I can hear that things are being panned, but it's as though certain elements are a bit wide in and of themselves and forming overlaps.   I think the vocals do ride on top nicely for a pop tune but are still somehow almost too up front at the same time.  Hopefully some of this is making sense at some level...

vocalist is awesome!  I agree with the others here that some clarity between the guitar tracks would help the mix.  they're mudding together.  bring the drum hits out individually, too.  the drums sound like they're in a different room, especially the cymbals, they sound like they're in a different zip code!  ;-)

I really don't think it's necessary to apologize for it being a Christian song, tho.

really nice rocking song - very good work!
