Having a Problem with per-project audio folder selection

I have X3, and it has the per-project audio folder checked in Preferences. However, when I record new audio tracks, my
projects still send the wav files to the global audio data folder. I've repeatedly checked the Preferences and can see that the
per-project audio folder is checked in every case, all the time.

Am I not considering something here? I thought checking the per-project audio checkbox was fool-proof.

Is there anything else I need to look into?

I'd be grateful for any response!

Have you created a new project folder and are you operating out of it?

When you activate the per-project folder option, it doesn't automatically move your project audio. Instead, it makes SONAR ask you to create/choose a folder when you choose File > New to create a new project.

So if you have existing projects, they will continue to use the Global audio folder unless you open the projects and then resave them in a new designated folder.

This can also be done via Save As. You create a folder and then within the folder create your project.

All windows software works the same, Sonar is no different. Most software defaults to pre determind folders, LIke My Docs or Music. Sonar had to create it's own folders. It's up to you to then make your own custom folders and make sure the files are saved there, just like with all software.

Garrigus - sheer brilliance. Thank you! Yep. It makes sense. I have existing projects that I've opened, but haven't performed any save-as or save new.

Again, thank you all for jogging my memory! Yikes!
