Any Chrome users?

Any other Chrome users out there that maybe have an idea on what is going on with my posts?

I've been using it for quite some time but recently it has started adding "//" at the end of my posts, a couple of lines down. They even appear in my signature.

I'm assuming everyone else can see them and I'm not "special". Firefox is behaving as expected. What's going on, has my laptop been taken over by aliens?

Suggestions or advice (of a civil kind) very welcome.

Thanks

The latest version of FF is not working right for me. When I click on a thread in a forum other than the main X forum, I get redirected to the main X forum. I can then hit the back button and be brought to the original thread I wanted to go to in the first place.

When I use Chrome I click a thread and wait, and wait, and wait, then I click the link again and am brought right to the thread.

Ever since the new features of the forum software were enabled FF or Chrome hasn't worked right.

And yes this is the only forum that does this behavior.

[edit] And I have cleared the Cache several times.

Not unless Slash is really an alien, or many aliens, as you suggest.

Suggestions or advice (of a civil kind) very welcome.

I'll try to be civil here, but this is the CH so I'm not too sure if that even applies or not.

You see, the "//" you've been experiencing... means you're system's been hacked by Slash.

    Yeah. This guy:

I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. He does this sort of thing when he's trollin' for new ideas to steal for his next big album.

    Cheers, mate!

btw, if you used tin foil instead of chrome you might foil (get it?) this sort of thing from happinen in the 1st place.

Thanks. Very bizarre. I've just tried clearing my cache etc. so I'll see if that makes a difference.

They're still appearing in your signature. Have no idea what that could be - two slashes are usually only seen as part of a URL, something which Tim Berners Lee has apologized for, the cheeky monkey http://www.sitepoint.com/...ners-lee-http-slashes/

I've never seen anything like that appearing at the end of my posts.

Whatever it was seems to have now magically fixed itself. I guess they are still in my sig because I edited it the other day. I'll have a go at editing it again and see if they disappear.

Ok, ok...  Here's a few things to try.  Turn off Ad Blocker Plus (ABP) and see if you see something new.  Sometimes it removes what it thinks is an ad and you'll either see nothing or what was around what it removed.

Then give up and use Firefox.

No longer running Adblock on this site. As you can see from my last few posts it has now become intermittent. Very strange, it's only this site as well. No problems at other places where I'm typing text such as FB etc.
