[solved but why ]New install X3 cannot find session drummer???

New install  X3 cannot find session drummer
 
8.5, x1 and x2 are installed.
 
I used the same paths.
 
I open a recent project edited in X2 on Saturday and am informed that session drummer cannot be found. 
 
It is in the same place as it was last I added it to a project.
 
I have scanned for vsts again, all items.
  
Soon I will open the project in x2, verify the presets are saved for the three instances of SD, open the
project in x3, add 3 SDs, load the presets, find and change the many associated midi tracks, route all the SD
outputs correctly.
 
But I would like to avoid all that. Especially cuz I will no doubt have to do it for all projects using SD!
 
Any ideas?

    Sorry to recap...

    You did a RESET and then a rescan?
    You have validated that the DLL is in the correct file paths? You are making sure there is no 32 bit DLL file in there when you have a 64 bit version?

    Nothing has changed except installing X3 and then x3e.
     
    Nothing has been moved. The files are where they were.
     
    Full reset and scan, at least twice, after computer restarts.

    You've checked the VST file path in preferences?

    What are you doing awake, and reading forum bits on a late sunday eve?
     
    Yes I have verified the paths.
     
    Currently I have 3 folders:
    the CW path:    C:\AudioCommon,...
    and another:     C:\program files\common files\vst3
    3rd party stuff:  D:\AudioCommonOther
     
    I have reset and scanned and ,.......
     
     
    ((( another issue sad issue : how do I add the 3rd party folder to the browser?   right-clicking on the effects bin gives access to the 3rd party effects and synths. And the browser provides acces to the synths. But not the effects.  What am I not doing correctly? ))))

    And now SD is not found in the projects when opened in X2.
     
    What was supposed to be a happy experience has resulted in many wasted hours. And now cannot do anything without reloading, and rerouting, SD.
     
    And: DP cannot find the samples!!!!!!!
     
    Dead in the water.
     
    I have sent a message to support and received a reply not related to my issue.
     
    And the car needs a body repair, and the house roof needs replacing, and the dog next door needs killing,....

    A quick way to get the plug-in back would be to remove SD3 from the Vstplugins directory and perform an advanced install of SD3 from X2 Producer. If the plug-in returns, it would point to a problem with MS libs. There are no function or content changes with SD3 from X2 to X3.     Oh yes C++ libraries - forgot about that.... See Scook's first link about install. Anyway plenty of troubleshooting info here now which I suspect will resolve the issue eventually...

    I have done it all.
     
    And still am wanting the hours returned that I should not have lost during this transition.
     
    Until this is fixed I cannot work on what I was supposed to. The projects opened X2 also cannot find SD.
     
    (I do not like you in a helmet, with mouth open, no doubt screaming orders,..  So I have place a piece of tape on the monitor to obscure ALL avatars.)

    After doing all the recommended bits, SUPPORT suggested rescanning in X2.
     
    I had not done this given my focus was on x3.
     
    So, I reset/scanned in x2, and SD was found and happy.
     
    Then, I reset/scanned in x3, and SD was found and happy.
     
    (still having issues with DP not finding samples: but that is a different thread)

    So:::::::::::
    I uninstalled AD yesterday in pursuit of fixing my ASIO input problem and NOW SD is not found opening a project in X3!!!
     
    I search for a solution and find this fred. Very helpful.
     
    What does an X2 vst scan have to do with X3 not finding stuff when X3 was installed after X2?
     
    Installing X3 has been nearly 3 weeks of total diverting annoyances. Dozens of hours lost attempting to fix stuff like this, and AD not installing, and the sound card drivers being nuked by X3 and AD install, and this AGAIN!
     
    I am not the happiest dude I know.
     
    "But my sound card has a brand new template."    Been listening to James lately.
