Preserve tempo changes from midi files when importing in X3 (SOLVED)

Dear all
I have a number of midifiles with embedded tempo changes that I want to import in X3 to create some audio backing tracks. All midi information imports correctly but only the first tempo assignment is included in X3, and not the later tempo changes.

Is there a way to do this automatically? Yesterday, I included ~10 tempo changes manually but there should be a smarter way (I hope)

Can somebody give advice on this?

Thanks

To preserve tempo information, do not use Import use Open. For existing projects see http://www.cakewalk.com/D...help=Recording.37.html

Don't use File-Import to load the MIDI file. Use File-Open. I tried it both ways and File-Open preserved the tempo changes while File-Import did not.

I see scook beat me to it. Oh, well. Now you've heard it twice. :)

AFAIK MIDI files don't need to be imported. You can simply open them. Could that solve the problem perhaps?
