Lurvley Steve! I just got back from southern Colorado. I've got almost 500 shots to sift through. Hope I got something close to this. Stunning stuff.

I've heard stories about this "Outside" of yours.

I hope it's only an urban legend like "Breathable Air", "Spring Water", or the "South Pole". I'm glad we know better.

You can't help but get a few good shots in Colorado, Randy.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you got.

I DO hope you're considering making posters out of some of those.  That one would look killer on a living room wall (or, even better, back lit as part of a big screen slideshow)!

I'd already noted down the spot for a possible sunset shot, and I'd even driven up there a couple of evenings but the clouds had refused to part.

On the final trip, mine was the only motor in that car park - just my daughter and I stood there, camera on tripod waiting and waiting.

LOL - by the time I was taking the shots I was waiting for, another 9 or 10 cars had pulled up and their occupants had all joined us, phones and compact cameras snapping away!

I like to think that maybe as I 'looked the part', they'd all stopped because a bloke wiv a proper camera was snapping away

Anywho, if you're interested, here are the three input images I combined to make the HDR shot (in HDR Efex Pro2):

    .
LOL, Steve. Maybe you did inspire some people.
You have to love shooting sunsets. They seem to go one of two ways.
You set up and wait patiently. Sometimes it opens up, sometimes it doesn't.
Or, you see it happening. You have a two minute window, and it takes a minute and a half to get into position. You race down the hill and fire off a dozen or so shots. One of them is "that" shot.
You stop to catch your breath. Only then do you realize the keys are still in the car, and it's still running.
