I just installed Reason 8
And I like it.

So did I, now I'm authorizer hell. When I try to authorize my computer with 8 the web page hangs with a repairing the key message so I have to log into my account to use it.

I don't use my Reason 7 all that much. I don't see much of an incentive at this point in paying $129 for the update when it isn't going to benefit me significantly.
so far as I have seen Reason 8 is stable, works and people that have upgraded like the workflow improvements.

Apparently Propellerhead's web site was slash dotted by everyone getting the update yesterday. This morning I was able to authorize it without a hitch.

so far as I have seen Reason 8 is stable, works and people that have upgraded like the workflow improvements.
Check out the Props forums. Some are hating the new browser because it's slow and The Line 6 stuff is removed. I'm checking out the demo and I like it so far.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the attraction of Reason? The lack of VST support is enough to put me off, so I figure there must be some kind of awesomeness I don't know about which draws people to it.

It's designed more for electronic music genres. People like it for its synths and rewire it into other DAWs.
