How to Freeze VST: Want to Output Individual Tracks for OMF

So I want to freeze individual tracks to output each one to its own track in an OMF. However, as far as I can tell (and I hope I'm missing something), you can only freeze the VST, thereby creating sort of mini-mix BEFORE the main mix.

I have RMX, Philarmonik, Omnisphere and some other VSTs which have multiple outputs. So when I freeze the instrument, I end up with one audio output for all of the instruments rather. So where I have 27 individual tracks, there are only 7 instruments. Ergo, I end up with 7 channels (in stereo) of audio, rather than 27 channels (which I need to strip down so an engineer can remix and master the whole thing).

I hope this is reasonably clear...am I stuck, or is there a way (kludges and work-arounds are also acceptable if the only output is per-VST).

Thanks for any help!

It depends on how many audio tracks are created in the SONAR project for each synth and the synth routing. If synths are added as instrument tracks or with the first audio track option selected in the "Insert Soft Synth Options" dialog there will only be one stereo track per synth. This can be remedied by adding more audio tracks and configuring their inputs to the appropriate synth outputs. If the synths are inserted with "All Synth Audio Outputs" selected in the "Insert Soft Synth Options" dialog the audio tracks are added to the project already configured.

You don't need to freeze the synths in order to export them as OMF, AFAIK. If export source is set to "Tracks" you'll get an audio file for each track.

Or maybe my memory is failing. I've only exported to OMF a few times long time ago. :o/

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Ah, Skook, you're right...I think. Each of Omnisphere's 8 internal tracks have an individual mono or stereo (in my case stereo) output. For some reason it's not sending anything to Sonar...but I'll muddle through and see what I can figure out. New territory...new learning.
