Problem adding Lexicon Pantheon to X3

Hi everyone,

I've had to do a complete re install of Windows 7 64 bit and all the software etc. I'm almost up and running but cannot seem to get the Lexicon Pantheon reverb working in X3. I installed it from Sonar 8 and it seemed to install. I can see the Pantheon.dll file in the "shared plug ins" folder. I've rescanned after adding the folder to the effects list and also tried to "reset" the list but it still doesn't show up in the effects list.

When I re installed the Lexicon plug in, I only selected that plug in - no program files at all. Is this correct?

What am I doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers.

The Lexicon Pantheon is a DirectX plug-in. Are you looking the in the correct area for the plug-in? No amount of VST resetting and scanning in going to make a difference.

Yes, I know that it's a direct x plug in. I was just trying anything that I could think of and after searching the forum I came across an old thread where it was mentioned to include the "shared plug ins" folder in the scan list.

I'm looking in the effects bin under every heading I can find but cannot seem to find it.

    Cheers.

It definitely works in X3. I use it from time to time. You may need to add it to your menus.

Open the "Plugin Manager". If it is installed correctly it should show in the "Registered Plugins" list when you select "DirectX Audio Effects" from the "Plugin Categories" list.

If it is there you can then drag it into your plugin menus as required. If it's not there I guess it's not installed correctly.

So much for an easy solution.

I came across an old thread where it was mentioned to include the "shared plug ins" folder in the scan list.

Bad advice. SONAR only installs DirectX plug-ins in the "Shared Plug-ins" folder. Remove the path from the VST scan path (unless you have knowingly added VST plug-ins into the folder, in which case they should be removed).

Was the installer run as administrator?
    Is SONAR running as administrator?
Is the plug-in shown in "DirectX Audio Effects" in the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager?
Are you using custom plug-in layouts?

Maybe the plug-in did not get registered during install. You could try to register the plug-in manually. Run the cmd.exe as administrator and execute
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plug-ins\Pantheon.dll"

    Oh boy...Duh.

Thanks so much guys. It just needed to be brought in via the Plug in manager.

It's late and I'm not thinking clearly.

@scook, I'll take the shared plug ins out of the VST list. Thanks for that.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
