[Solved] PIANO ROLL MIDI NOTE HELL!!! HELP PLEASE!!

hI
I have got an awful dilemma here and cannot figure It out yet.

I have played my song live Into Sonar X3 and now want to tidy It up.
I import midi file 0 from my Tyros keyboard  and all tracks show up nicely.
I open up piano roll and snap to grid 1/16 and  and move all notes to tidy up for the duration of the song.

I then save the file as midi 0 and then Import back Into sonar and all the notes at the beginning have moved a 1/64 and wider at the end of song.
so the notes are not staying where I put them.
Does anyone know where I am going wrong????

I have spent all last night and finished editing and reloaded song today and all the notes have shifted back a 1/64 to a 1/32 and a 1/16 towards the end.

I would love  some real help on this as this Is the last piece of the jigsaw which Is right for me!!!

Just get my system going fantastic and this happens
I have not switched  on my Focusrite scarlet 6i6 at this stage as I am editing straight from the Tyros 5 MIDI ONLY.

All the Best
John

Not sure, try opening the file instead of importing it.

Well I have always used MID 1 files as I think Midi 0 was for single track sequences. Type 1 is multi track for sharing files etc. Can't see how this would change your quantizing however.

Did you try saving the project as a normal  CWP file after you quantized?
This will at least keep all your editing.

And yes I always "open " a midi file to preserve all data. Importing will remove things like tempo data.

Not sure why you record sequences to the Keyboard first? Why don't you just record into Sonar?

    hi
Thanks for your swift reply as I struggling to keep the hair on my head
I have taken your advice Johnny V and I think the main problem was me Importing a midi File Instead of Opening.
Now the notes are staying In place and with more practice ,I will persevere.
I will make sure to save Midi file 1 and carry on from there.
I have a great keyboard In the Tyros 5 and It Is not just for the over 65s.
It has a great sequencer on board and If I play a tune with all the drums and chords live Into the sequencer,i can then transport that to Sonar X3.
After tightening up the tracks ,I can then add some soft synths to the mix.
I am not Into the mod dance and bass stuff, definitely rock and I like to play a decent tune!!
Once I have sorted this sonar out ,I can then think about doing some of my own stuff
Spandau Ballet and Floyd, that Is where music should be going In my view.
Not these one finger merchants and women going moo! moo! moo! mooo! all the time!! and Coldplay singing like they are hanging themselves. Too many  minor notes In that boring stuff!!
LURVE to get back to the 60s and 70s where music was FUN!! --Just a little rant!!
Thanks John for putting me on the right track.

John             Ps That Scarlet 6i6 Is amazing!!
