[Solved] Tracks Won't Slide Left

This issue is in Sonar x3e.  Right now my first track starts at measure 3.  The first marker is also at measure 3. I am trying to slide all the tracks to begin at measure 1.  I have checked the event list and there is no data in the first two measures.  I am selecting all the tracks and clips, and setting the slider for Events in Tracks and Markers to slide -2 measures.  Nothing happens. I tried -1 too and that didn't work either.   The data WILL slide to the right though.

I'd appreciate any help.

I seem to remember this coming up before, but don't remember if there was a solution or whether it's some kind of bug. If a bug, then I would think the workaround would be to cut, place the now time at the beginning, then paste.

    Here's a wild guess:

Is the material looping? Is it possible that the data is sliding, within the clip, to the left but you can't see the details of it because the data is so similar in measures 5 and 6?

The way to check would be to look in Track View at the end of the tracks and see if the data moved left, or to scrutinize the details in PRV.

If you want to use the Events commands you'll probably need to use track view to extend the clips boundary to the left, so that, when you slide the data in the clips it isn't hidden by the clip boundary as shown in the track view.

The easiest way to move the clips to the left would be, IMO, to use track view to select the clips, or a time range on the clips, and simply drag them left 2 measures.

    Good luck.

Call me stupid...When I select all using CNTRL A,  I didn't think to adjust the selection on the ruler bar, so measure 1 and 2 were selected as well.  That's why it wouldn't move.  IF I hadn't read your comments trying to help, I might not have discovered it for a while.

    Thank you gentleman,
