SONAR X3 install: Old Dimension Pro and Loops and Oneshots

Hello All-

I will be installing X3 Pro soon. I notice that the files for  "Dimension Pro Setup", "Dimension Pro Expansion Packs", and the three "Loops and One Shots" files that came with my X3 download are exactly the same name and size as the ones that came with X2. By this I infer they are exactly the same files.

Four questions:
1. Are these X3 files the same as the X2 files?
2. If they are the same, do they need to be newly installed for X3 to use them, or can I skip installing them?
3. If they are either different or the same - and need to be newly installed - do I need to get rid of the previously installed files first?
4. If required or not, what is the best way to re-install these files? (My DP in X2 seems a bit buggy and might benefit by a re-install)

Thanks!

    1. yes
    2. no, skip them

    4. Run the uninstaller for DimPro from the Windows control panel and remove the registry entries:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\dp
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\dp

    Thanks, Scook.
I don't work with the registry much...I'm guessing that the Wow6432 above is the 32-bit entry. To edit this, do I need to run from the command line:
    %systemroot%\syswow64\regedit
...or can I get at it by simply running:
    regedit
    ?

Hmmm...Looking at my program files, I see DP in the 64-bit version folder only, so I am guessing that I did not install the 32-bit version. I may not need to worry about the 32-but registry, but still would like to know how to edit it.

    Thanks-

typing regedit in the start menu search entry should be enough to bring up the program
you may not have a 32bit registry entry but it does not hurt to check.
