VST headaches!

I'm still having issues with my vsts loading in X3. I tried the reset/scan to no avail. Uninstalled/reinstalled my Amplitube plugs, and after all this, I still can't get X3 to load my plugs. I appears that the plug-in scan is hanging on Remix_Sonar32.dll, and causeing the plugin manager to crash. It is never making it to my Amplitube path.
Any suggestions, ..re-install X3?

    Sorry for the limited info.
Windows 7 Pro, 32bit, Intel Duo Core . It's an older Dell XPS, so I can't remember exactly how its configured (not at my computer presently). And IIRC 8 gig ram.
Sonar X3 Producer, x32, updated to patch e. (Still have X1,X2 installed)

I think you mean RMixSONAR_32.dll, right? If so, go into your VST plugins folder and find the R Mix Sonar Edition folder. Re-name the dll to something like RMixSONAR_32.old so the scanner doesn't recognize it, then see if you can get Sonar to open and your other VSTs loaded. Also note there should be three other DLLs in the same folder. If there aren't, that could be your problem.

If that happens, then we can figure out how to deal with R Mix. But hopefully this will at least get you up and running temporarily.

When the scanner appears to "hang," are you sure there isn't some dialog appearing on the desktop somewhere that needs a response? I remember at some point, whenever I would reset my plugins, it would just stop at some point. The first time it happened I thought the process had hung, but it turns out there was a dialog window on the desktop behind Sonar which needed an OK/cancel response from me. Can't remember which plugin it was.

Excellent point!! Check the taskbar to see if something's trying to get your attention.

Update on VST issues. Sharke was exactly right. The reason it wasn't completing the scan, was because there was a popup for me to acknowledge. As Craig suggested, I renamed the RMix dll "old", and that took care of the vst manager crashing. I did get my Amplitube vsts loaded and working. The vst that is hanging the scan is "beatscape:" and "rapture LE". This is what prompts the dialog box to disable or load the plugin.
What should I do about the RMix_Sonar.dll??
And most importantly, thank you fellows for all the input to help me out.

Put it back to its proper state and rescan. It should load now but be watchful for hidden dialogs.

They should work. Sometimes it takes a few scans. If all else fails, you can reinstall using custom install...can't hurt (at least I don't think so), and might help.
