Sonar X3e: Automation does not copy/paste unless the automation lane is open

Intel i7 quadcore, 24GB RAM, DSI Pro 2, Novation Supernova.
Pro 2 connected directly to PC by USB.
Supernova connected directly to PC by Midi-to-USB cable.
RME Fireface UCX directly connected by USB to PC.
Neither of the hardware synths have their MIDI connections through the UCX, it is used only for audio recording and sound output, not for midi connections.
 
OS: Win 7 Ultimate, SP1, 64bit. Not tested with Win 8.1 yet, will update as soon as I can test.
 
The project has one or more tracks with automation lanes containing automation.
Typically I press CTRL+A to select everything (lazy/easy way to get all tracks), then set the start bar and end bar for the sections I want to copy. 
CTRL+C
Find the place in the project I want to paste, click on the top track in the project (so that I don't accidently paste underneath the bottom track and create a whole load of new tracks) and then I press CTRL+V.
 
All tracks get pasted properly where expected. Except:
Any automation lanes where the lane itself has not been expanded do not get pasted.
Any automation lanes that are open/expanded get pasted properly
 
This is consistent behaviour over the entire duration I've owned X3.

    I don't see that behaviour here. Is all automation being included in the copy? Try using Alt+Ctrl+C and make sure that automation is included in the copy.

    @48/24 & 128 buffers latency is 367 with offset of 38.
