rtucker55 . . . thanks for the tip, just did the download / install, worked perfectly.
In Sonar, this basically gets rid your old  VST2 RealGuitar version, and puts the insert point in the Insert - Soft Synth - VST3 area. I opened an older project, and it loads the new version.

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

That is Great news noynekker! I have not even opened them in Sonar projects yet but played with the stand alones and all worked perfectly. It's nice to have installers that work well.

    Kind regards,
    Rick

Can you update but stay on VST 2. I have had nothing but problems with VST3 instruments in X3?

    Intel i7 3770K @4.4GHz, 32GB RAM, 240GB SSD System disk, 2 x 2TB and 1 x 1TB (with SSD Cache) HDD. Windows 10,  Sonar Platinum. Roland Quad Capture.

I just opened Sonar's plugin mgr and the real instruments in my custom layout are still using the updated vsti 2.
I believe you would have to modify your layout to use the vsti 3 dll's.

Yes, I recall there was a choice in the install to choose VST2 . . . but then the main reason for the update is that they have made VST3 possible, and they don't say anywhere (that I can find) what the "and many bug fixes" actually are.

I've worked with the VST3 version a little bit in the last few days, and haven't had any troubles, so far.

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.
