Lost all VST audio

Hi Guys...

Suddenly lost all audio output from my VST's!!

All other audio (CD/HDD song collection/Youtube/internet etc.) connections play audio output OK through the Behringer. But nothing from HSH6. The VSTs load OK and the Icons show up on the screen as norma,l but no audio output. E.g.  Strings show up as instruments and "play" from the midi input from the keyboard - or mousing the onscr4een keyboard and the audio meters even show audio output, but none is outputted from the Behringer.

Anyone any idea why. this was all working fine this morning but not any more and very puzzling - as well as frustrating

So audio is generally working OK on your computer, you just don't get any sound out of HS6? Maybe you accidentally changed the master bus routing. It should be routed to the hardware output (the exact name will depend on your audio interface). Do all projects exhibit the same behavior, or just the one you're working on at present?

Beagle posted in the main SONAR forum about a similar issue that happened after his computer installed a Windows update.

You may want to go search out that thread and see if your symptoms, which sound remarkably similar, can be fixed the way he fixed his issue.

    Good luck.

yep, I was just about to respond about my windows update woes.  I ended up doing a restore point from the last 2 windows updates (done back to back on the same day).

So Beagle, did you determine exactly what it was that the Windows update had changed? I missed that thread.

Hi Bitflipper...all the projects are the same, and it's not a mis-routed bus. Incidentally all my VST's that can operate as a standalone outside HS6 work fine - voice OK from both my midi keyboards and output through the behringer.

Beagle.. I hadn't tried a restore so that's going to be the next step 'cos I think I've done tried most else.

I also have X3 studio sitting here a while, so whilst my geeky son if offering his help I might just bite the bullet and go for the new one!..

Thanks to all though for the input, always appreciated

    Mike

Not yet.  I haven't had time to reinstall the updates and see if it breaks again, and try to narrow it down to the one which breaks it.  I do plan to do that, just haven't had time.
