And as promised the video "art" for the sonata I composed a couple of weeks ago.

As I watched this and listened again to your tune I got the feeling I was trapped within the confines of the room, possibly because of some physical constraint or mental state, whilst slow spiralling towards the depths of depression or even madness. Some of the shots with the accompanying soundtrack almost gave me the impression that I was hunting for a way to bring an end to my confinement or possibly an even darker end.

I enjoyed the tune and the imagery thanks for sharing Ben.

Hi John, hmm well maybe your projecting...lol.  I didn't realise it was that dark.  Um it really is just a representation of a day...literally.  Sure there are a couple of overtones, but the sights and sounds are what greet me daily.  It does drive one to madness somewhat...sonic rape, the sacrifices I'm having to make to get further ahead i.e. trying to get into PHD until I know whether I get in I literally have to stay...then I have decide whether I want to pay more to live in the CBD of Adelaide (look up Adelaide, the composition could be a literal representation of the stifling feeling Adelaide gives me) there is nowhere else to live in Adelaide, it's literally just one big suburb...in a desert and nowhere to run.

There is also beauty, you can't just bash people over the head with ugliness, if you look I have captured two sides, the colours, the lights, the shades.  It's all there you just have to look.  It's a dichotomy.  There is an impressionist feel to the whole piece, unsurprisingly because I am an impressionist.  "And for all of you over the age of 10", to paraphrase the late great John Lennon...impressionism is not just painting, it's an entire ****ing movement lol.  Of course if you want to be pedantic, were probably talking about neo-sonic-digital-impressionism.

Quite possibly Ben but that is another story, I could see the light and beauty but the return to the repeating scenes is what prompted, for me, that sense of no escape.  It was very well done and the music fitted the feel of the film for me.

I like the music and the way you shot the video. I was starting to get claustrophobic though. I wanted to go out for a walk :)

I thought it was well-done. I can't listen to stuff like this for very long without getting bored - sorry. But, you are a very talented artist and there is definitely a place for this type of thing - usually movie theatres.

This is very artistic, compelling, and disturbing all rolled into one.  If you keep producing works like this, someday it will be in a gallery.
