Terrible news. I'm so glad the 2005 Cream reunion happened. He wasn't in great health then as I recall, but they were stellar. R.I.P.

Yep, Dave, that's a major bummer about Jack!  If it wasn't for Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love", I would never have begged my parents for a year and a half to let me take guitar lessons.

Like Clint mentioned, I'm at least very happy they had the reunion a few years back.

It's too bad he died one day after the official announcement about the big box set release yesterday. http://classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2014-10-23/cream-detail-6lp-box-set

We're really starting to lose a lot of the rock pioneers this year.  I mentioned in the Johnny Winter thread a month or two ago, that growing up as a kid I only had three posters on my bedroom wall: Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter and Cream Goodbye.

    Enjoy you weekend, guys!

Great loss, indeed. I really thought Ginger would be the first to croak, but he keeps on. He and Keith Richards should donate their bodies to medical research to figure out their secret of longevity.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Jack Bruce was a great player and Cream was an ultimate supergroup, as they were all virtuosos. Cream was massively popular, selling 35 million records during their few years existence. Here's a real good video of JB: the 1st musical performance sequence on this video is a smokin' rendition of NSU. (I always thought the title referred to a local university where he'd recently had some fun, but NSU stands for 'non-specific urethritis'.)

This is all the attention Jack gets? WTF?
I know Clapton is "God" but,
Jack did the bulk of the writing, bulk of the singing, etc. etc..
When Eric goes, the thread will go on ad nauseam.
Hell "Beware of Mr Baker" has twice as many replies.
    Shame on all of us!
RIP in Jack, I will always be a fan.

Sans that Eric stole Geroge's wife he seems to be the calm one of that group of misfits that somehow worked.

I do attribute it all to Jack. He will be missed. At least by me.

I saw him with West, Bruce and Lang. And with Ringo's All Star Band.

A true powerhouse of originality, IMO.

    WAIT A MINUTE!
Eric traded "Lucy" (the Red Les Paul) for Patti.
George still had "Lucy" when he passed.
Pretty sure he got the best end of that deal!
And as to the "sans", re-read Eric's auto biography; he has left a legacy of destruction in his path!
    Just sayin'...
"I do attribute it all to Jack"
I think they all brought something to Cream in equal measure.
The JHE without Noel; who cares!
Cream without just one; Jack, Eric or Ginger, not the same band; IMHO.
