25$ Gift Voucher-Code

I did the survey, but rather I was rather silly and just dismissed the code I was suppose use to purchase.  I've decided I might as well use it and purchase the other Prochannel compressor...it's a no brainer at 15bucks or there abouts when taking into account exchange rates.  Anyone no what to do??

PS I'm not happy about talk of a subscription service, too much harassment. IMHO.  After being on a Microsoft one, when two payments did not go thru...poor student, they shut my account down and I could not pay the bill because my card was rejected.  Not a good business model.  I brought a 4 year student licence to get around this.

I suspect they got a lot of "no way" feedback on that one based on the tone of the boards so maybe we should all calm down before grabbing torches and pitchforks.  Although i am sure there are ways to get the code, the "official" way and the one less likely to get someone to violate forum terms of conduct is to advise you to contact customer support and explain what happened.  Probably would have been better to just email code following survey for those not able to redeem that second.

Thanks, no pitchforks here just giving a rational opinion.  Gosh yes an email would have been nice.  Particularly as it was an extensive survey.  Unless the powers that be see this thread, don't think I can be bothered.

You seem very rational.  i just made the statement because this hads been mentioned in multiple places on the forum and the opinions seem consistent.

    Hi Ben,

I also took the survey and received the code. I didn't see anything I wanted with the exception of the X3 Sonar Power book but by the time shipping was included I can get it elsewhere for less. There was a place to enter the promo code when I went into my cart. I don't recall if it was first or second page now.

The following is Purely speculation on my part and I could be WAY off base here:
From some of the questions I got the feeling that they are contemplating a subscription model and the question about if my machine is on the internet and how frequently makes me wonder if they are going to implement a 'Phone Home' license scheme. I would not have any interest in either system.

Actually I am starting to wonder what is going on. I read a post today about a known bug (serious for anyone using CC64, val0) and Noel says he fixed the bug but they will release the fix in the next version.
My concern is why are they waiting to release a bug fix until the next version? X2 was left crippled with bugs that were fixed in X3 but no bug fix for those who chose not to upgrade. Sorry for the rant but, like I said, I am getting concerned...

    Purrrfect Audio DAW here.  Wow!...

I kinda like the idea that they could get out from under the waterfall development method and more towards a Agile development model. It could be good for us.

I don't have my mind closed to it anyway.

I will say that most of us care a great deal about stability. I'm not sure how weekly or monthly updates would put us at risk. Right now, all the risk is piled into a single release point once a year. We can manage it. For the company to go agile, some users will too.

Maybe there could be a base of subscription users that are like hard core beta testers (I mean you Alex!!) :P

Well, and me. I couldn't resist if they offered it. I'd pay a monthly fee to always be on the latest and greatest. To have the touch tool-bar I've been asking for now as opposed to waiting a year for it.

Cakewalk might benefit (as well as non-subscription users) by having a larger pool of users of their code sooner. Instead, now, we once a year pound the code between Oct and December usually, listing out everything we find that counts as a repeatable issue.

It would be cool to be on the leading edge team. Kinda an insiders group. It might help Cakewalk's budgets to have a recurring source of revenue rather than a yearly hit that might or might not payoff.

It's inline with the new JIT world order.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I took the survey but did not receive the code. It's supposed to show up in my account right?  I'm not crazy about a subscription. If I'm going to buy something I want to own it, That's why I don't lease cars, it's a waste of money. I don't like the idea of paying for my DAW like I pay for my electric bill. Maybe for professional users who make a living using DAW's but for a hobby no way.

I imagine it like a two way deal. You can buy out-right to a certain level of deployment when you wish, or you can be for upgrades at intervals. The one model wouldn't be in place of the other but in addition to.
