Help me spend my money!
I recently completed the survey and have my $25 voucher. I have Sonar X3e Producer Edition and the only extra I purchased was the Pro Channel Concrete Limiter, per recommendations on this site. Sooooo.....what should I be looking at? I am thinking Pro Channel and maybe a compressor...but please let me know what tool you think will add the most value, thanks.

I don't remember if the CA-2A compressor was rolled into X3 or not. If you don't have it...it's a complete, must have, no brainer.

DEFINITELY a +1 on the CA-2A, it can compete with the best, I use it all the time. Since you're already thinking ProChannel and compressor it's a no-brainer.

I have X3 Producer. I am not sitting in front of my studio PC now, but on Cakewalks website they list the following for my release: "PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor" The bundle you speak of lists the following? "PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor" I hate to look foolish, but these seem different, but it just may be a syntax error" Also, I don't think I have this, as I did not buy it special, so unless it came with Producer, I need to check to see if I have "PC2A" so that I can use the upgrade. I don't know until I get in front of the PC. Thanks all.

The "PC4K S-Type Channel Compressor" is not the PC2A. The PC2A was a separate purchase as is the CA2A. IIRC, neither has been bundled with SONAR in any promotion. Regardless, if you own a copy of the PC2A, it has a serial number. The product would be listed separately in your store account with the serial number. My store account PC2A line item reads ProChannel Module - PC2A T-Type Leveling Amplifier with a serial number and registration code. If you do not have an item like that in your store account then you are not be eligible for the CA2A upgrade price. The CA2A would be a new purchase.

I think the Softube bundle is still on sale. If you don't mind ilok, they are high quality plugs.

The L2A2 clone - the CL thing. Must have. Z3TA 2+ if you don't have it. The Softube bundle is great, but a lot more than $25. @

Is the "channel" compressor different from the "bus" compressor? I can't see how...but it might be.

I forgot to mention that, but still a consideration with the sale and $25 it may be a good time for someone who was on the fence to purchase at full price.

If you are talking about the Softube Bundle, you will need to install the iLok License Manager on your PC(s) and download license keys from iLok. The software does not require a dongle but does use iLok copy protection. The licenses are stored on your local hard drive. Edit: duplicate post deleted

I am not a fan of iLok but have softened my stance ...somewhat ...since they no longer require dongle. I would have used my $25 towards bundle this go round since the sale price is awesome, but broke, single parent issue prevent that at the moment lol
