new Kicksville track: Mommy

howdy y'all -

Here's this week's release, Mommy: http://kicksville.bandcamp.com/track/mommy

Fair warning...it's a little, um, disturbing if you're on the sensitive side. I'll just say for the record, this is a story, *not* a biographical piece I've always liked songs dealing with a really dark subject but set in a happy-sounding context (definite tip of the hat to Pink Floyd's "Free Four"), so this was a fun one for me.

cheers!

Great playing but I must say I like singing style vocals more though these vocals are very good too. Mix sounded balanced.

Man I love what you do - so unusual - but so right on. This is great - love it.

Interesting...hard to describe...kind of like Talking Heads jittery funk-rock mixed with latter-day Leonard Cohen.  Sorry to mention other bands, but how else to talk about some things?

Thanks a lot, y'all! As always, I really appreciate the time you took to listen to the stuff. And there's still more on the way.... BTW, Jon, you're kinda from our neck of the woods. Our studio is in Madison, and one of our main members runs a huge haunted house attraction in Green Bay.

Kakku - we don't always do spoken word, it just happened that this bunch of tunes we're currently releasing happens to be kind of leaning in that direction. We do work pretty regularly with some great vocalists, like Sihle Ngema (The Lion King soundtrack & tour) and Aya Peard. If you're curious, check either of these out and let me know if they fit your vocal aesthetic a little better

Huh, very cool.  I grew up in Milwaukee, lived on the east coast for a decade, and am kind of new to the Fox Valley.  I've been hoping to play Madison though...

I listened to Hot alien orgy and it sounded just about perfect. Vocals also.
