Yeah, we all know who he is.. Maybe you like him, maybe you don't. He has been a huge inspiration to me. Carmine is just the epitome of cool. You can tell they are all enjoying the heck out of this gig. I have yet to catch up with him - I've heard about him but not really listened to him.
I OD'ed on blues in the late 90s. The whole SRV thing became an integral part of my playing - some of it seemed so natural to me, plus I already had a similar attack, playing with the large end of the pick and such... I abused it.
In a sense, I'm still recovering from it, and it's odd because it left big holes in my ability to simply jam. It's like having to find a new language, new idioms. So far, I haven't really found myself.
Funny because not too long ago I was reading an interview w/ a friend of ours, a famed blues guitar player back home and he was talking about taking away stuff from your playing, all that isn't yours - borrowed licks and such...
But someday, I'll catch up w/ Joe. :)

Got into JB about a year ago, love his stuff. That version of 'India/Mountain Time' from the RAH is just incredible. Also love 'Happier Times' with the two-drummer set-up. I get a FB feed from him and the guy just lives breathes and sleeps guitars.

JB is on my regular playlist when at work.......a musician that simply loves his trade!!!!. I'm a big fan of blues guitar......some of my favs are SRV, JB, Pat Travers, and Gary Moore. Here's Gary playing Red_House. Also, I really enjoy this version of Red_House by G3.

Wow! As one of the comments state "Gary played the paint off of the Strat". I'm not familiar with him, but I'll definitely check out his work. He may be gone, but his music lives on. Thanks Mesh. G3 with Eric Johnson was probably my favorite lineup, followed closely by John Petrucci. I had heard of Joe Bonamassa, but never really heard him play until this past Winter. A customer was playing the RAH video, and I asked her who that was. I was hooked, and that job took a little longer than it should have  . James, yeah, that look is priceless.

LOL.....yes!! Gary's a hall of famer IMO. EDIT: Here's a really good live version of Still Got the Blues album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvSAIQ1Bi4UAlthough a fantastic guitar slinger, he's also a very accomplished (underrated) singer. If you like Gary's stuff, check out Pat Travers album Blues Tracks which is an excellent good rocking/blues album. The whole album was on youtube for awhile, but they've removed it.
