The Longest Night

Another new piece from me. This one has a seasonal theme to it. I think it turned out quite well.

All feedback most welcome. :)

Great work! Lovely melodies. Only problem was I prefer to listen a bit more simpler stuff. There was like more than one melody at a time so for me it was occasionally a bit hard to concentrate on the main melody. I am sure though that others have no problem here. Mix sounded balanced on my headphones. Very good job!

Nice Gus very nice I like the soaring female vocal what did you use?  The whole mix came across beautifully here the melodies and counter melodies hummm.

    Gus,

The arrangement and mix is really well executed.     Your samples sound very realistic as well.  Enjoyed this very much.

Very nice indeed.  Great arrangement and use and placement of instruments.  I too particularly like the use of the female sounding voice.  Also -- a very nice use of tempo changes to give the song a different (but not too different) mood to the song.

Yes I think the harp and vox work well at giving this an xmas feel to it.

    Hello Freddy,
I usually try to place the instruments where they would be in an orchestra. I feel that the female vox helps to add a bit of emotion to it.
     Thanks for stopping by. :)

Nice work, Gus.   I don't hear harp often, so that was a nice change.   And good job on arranging the layers, they come across well, as do the VOP lines (always liked the demos for that!).

Seasoned quite nicely. I like the arpeggios combined with some of the more melodic elements, and the wide use of the frequency spectrum. . . It's not easy to do. I like your mix.

Well, I wrote this whole thing and it's not here.  Short version.  I love it.  Seasonal sound of my favorite season and beautifully done.  I have a question, though.  Who is Russ White?  is that you?

Cheers for stopping by Steve. Since I've brought a harp VST I thought I'd better use it. VOP was never on my agenda, A friend of mine stated how good it was, so I looked it up while EastWest were running their VIP deal, 4 products at 70% off. It would have been rude it I didn't take advantage of the deal. Glad I did cuz it really helped with the theme of this piece.
