Project Frozen...
This ones interesting and it must have been seen before.. I have an older project built pre X Producer series. My preferences are set to save every 10 minutes or 20 changes. That said, the project keeps saving after every change and about every 10 seconds. Absolutely none of the other projects are exhibiting this behavior. When I go to mix down, after the export is complete - the project is frozen. I get around it by saving one last time before I export - then close the program after export. The project renders and exports OK. I SUSPECT that the project is building a list, or trying to, save while the project is being rendered, and locks because it has built a command set that it cannot complete. Any ideas? Again - any other project does not exhibit this behavior.. Thanks All!

Did you try shutting off auto save and see if it still freezes?

I will try that as soon as I can. My little Logitech mouse just ran out of battery life. I appreciate the help JohnnyV

Is V-Vocal or AudioSnap present in this project? Or perhaps some unusual, older plug-in that's a contemporary of when the version was created? I'd make a copy and render all the track to see if that made a difference. If so, then I'd make another copy and render tracks until I isolated the naughty track. Then I'd render that track in the original, problematic project.

Craig, Thank you. From memory, V-Vocal is present - so is BBE, a plug that I got from Cakewalk years ago. Everything else is either X3 Producer or Waves 9.2. I used that BBE on about every vocal track for a few years. I'll be stopping by the store before I get back home tonight so I can pick up a few batteries for the mouse and double check. I will respond later this evening. I really appreciate this forum - Lance

Keybind your letter 'S" on your qwerty keyboard and disable autosave. Press the letter 'S' when you want to save. Its never failed me and never gives me problems.

Sorry for the slow response folks. I turned off auto save, and the project kept saving. Four times. It finally stopped the fourth save. That was unexpected. From then on, no more saves, and no more hanging. Next up is to turn on autosave and render the one track with v vocal. It just so happens that this track also has th BBE maximizer on it. Long day and night today. Working on a show. Going to hit the sack and do this tomorrow. Thank you CJ for the manual save method. I'll report back as soon as I can on the render results. It's a good feeling knowing that there is honest to goodness community support on this forum. I am thankful.
Best regards,
L
