VS700SET V-Xpanded with a studio capture..
I recently purchased a Roland studio capture, and was using it flawlessly with an old peavey studio mix controller.. I then acquired a VS700C, and was running the Studio-Capture for I/O and the VS700C driver with the unit in standalone mode.. This too worked flawlessly.. Not even a week later I came across a VS700R at a steal of a price with an Included ARX expansion.. My plan was to use the VS700SET together and V-XPAND the 700R with the additional I/O of the studio capture, Giving me 20 XLR Ins.. I updated the drivers as described in the vxpand procedure, and updated the firmware on the console, & 700r... but not the Studio capture.. instructions said not to.. I can not get these two paired up... has anyone used a studio capture with a 700R? Please advise-

I also have the same problem as I have just purchased a Studio Capture very cheaply.

Is there anyone out there who has managed to get these to sync together. All my drivers are up to date and my computer specs are in my signature below.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do but from the info I got when the studio capture came out ( http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2762636) it seems it was not designed to work with the VS-700 ... hence I never considered using it ... Edit: the post I was referring to is about 2 yrs old but meanwhile there have not been any driver updates for VS-700 (other than porting to win 8) which would have mentioned address this (VS-700 & Octa-Capture still use what Roland calls VS EXPAND, while the Studio Capture uses VS STREAMING technology)...

I'd still ask Roland if it's still the same status ... Anyway, you could buy a 2nd Studio Capture and sync those, use only the VS-700C (and switch off the noisy VS-700R) ...

I haven't checked this in awhile... i never did get the vxpand feature to allow me to use the io of both units.. however, it will let me use the midi ports of either unit.. weird!! Idk. I tried working with Roland they forward you to cakewalk, who forwards you back to Roland.. endless cycle.. they never even responded to 3 tickets I submitted.. guess we are out of luck
