In case you're too young to have experienced the 80's....

This is pretty much what it was like 24/7.

And here I was thinking the '80s involved tons of cocaine and drug wars. Also the rise of millionaire drug kingpins on every coast.
No, I wasn't old enough to experience the '80s but the '90s were great (for me at least)

M.C Hammer takes the cake. He's a prime example of what to do and what not to do.

American Gladiators was also a cool show. That crosses into the 90s as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for sharing. The video put a smile on my face. It reminds me of the good times and the things I thought make this country  great to be a part of. (that kind of don't exist anymore)

You have to admire their spirit, if anything.

Actually over the last few years I've come to appreciate a lot of the music of the 80's that I absolutely hated at the time. I wouldn't listen to anything but thrash music back then (& bizarrely enough, Steely Dan. My mix tapes were an emotional roller coaster to say the least ).

Oddly, I enjoyed thrash music.  Dirty Rotten Imbeciles and Suicidal Tendencies were awesome to me then.  I even would incorporate thrash into hip-hop mixes.  The 80's liek all periods had it's commercial mass distributed garbage but also amazing works.  Some of the music I hate most and some I love best came from that time.

I've even come to love some of the mass distributed stuff. Was listening to Lionel Richie's "Running With The Night" the other day, what a great sounding track. Also Phil Collins & Philip Bailey's "Easy Lover," and Tina Turner's "Private Dancer." Some of it just has a great atmosphere which is quintessentially 80's and seems very cool to me now.

Funny video. Bad television at its best.

I did not watch a lot of TV in the 80's. It was probably my most active musical period, other than the high-school days. So I guess I had good things to do.

But I did get to watch some shows. One was C.H.I.P.s (late 70's - early 80s). Good ol' Ponch.

And remember 'L.A. Law'? I think this show changed the face of lawyer TV shows a lot.

    Broken pencils are pointless.

The 80's also featured strange things like porn star Ron Jeremy rapping.  Yes, it was as awful as it sounds.

I had SO much fun during the 80's that I've (thankfully) forgotten most of it.

I hated the 80's music.  After getting in audio production my attitude has changed.  Some of the electronic instruments are still desired.  I would imagine music production and enginering would be more of a challenge combine guitar and synths when it comes to harmonic.
