Re: X3: Comp Multiple Tracks Simultaneously?

Hi TMG,
+1 to FBB, I do multi-mic comping all the time and that's exactly the method I use. A couple possible "gotchas":
1. Unlike some other DAWs you may have used, Sonar seems to stream audio from all takes in a track regardless of whether they are muted. What this means is that if you have 10 drum kit tracks and each of them has 5 takes, even though only one take on each track is playing the disk is streaming all of them. This can quickly start to really hammer your HDD IO. If this happens the only real solution is archiving tracks.
2. Clip grouping leaves some things to be desired. There are any number of operations that can be performed on only one clip in a group if you don't first select (i.e., click on) a clip in the group first. For example, if I have 10 clips in a group and I want to slip-edit all of them, if I don't click on one of them to select it first I can slip edit one of the clips and the others will remain unchanged. Same thing applies to fades and any number of other things. Good rule: select a clip in a group before editing.
Good luck
