Loaded X2 Producer onto my new Samsung notebook -- works great! But ...

... I think it may cause me to go blind ...

I'm using the rig for live performance.

It's got a 13.3" viewing screen and 3200x1800 resolution. The program appears to be intended to be used by Lilliputians with microscopes at this level ... and I was wondering if anyone has suggestion for improving usability/readability?

Thanks in advance for any/all help!

Can you change the display resolution in windows?
Never understood why a 13 inch screen would have that kind of res.

I did, Arvid, and had little success with improvement. The desktop icons were the size of small elephants, but Sonar was still unreadable.

I run X3 on my large studio rig, but thought ... why not load X2 on to my notebook(?!) ... nice low profile for live gigs ... but my oh my ... everything is in ultra-miniature, down to molecular level.

I could likely port out via mini-hdmi to a larger monitor (I've not done so yet), but there goes the "low profile" I desired during a live performance.

I should take a screen shot. It's kind of hysterical how tiny it all is.

I'd love to see that! I use sonar live as well, and have a 15 inch screen. Couldn't imagine going lower.
I'm confused though about why sonar would be so tiny still if you set your resolution to say 1024*768 unless sonar was resetting resolution to max when it starts.

Well ... evidently photos aren't able to be attached, but that's essentially the question: Can Sonar be locked into a lower resolution than the native environment when opening?

One Suggestion (never tried it my self), if you have a tablet or iPad you could try one of the splashtop apps.  I believe the "Splashtop Extended Wireless Display" App could be a solution.

If you try it, I would be curios to know how it works for you.

First I would try a lower resolution in general by right clicking the desktop and selecting screen resolution then changing it to a lower setting.  I think you could also right-click the sonar shortcut or sonarpdr.exe file and select properties then the compatability tab and checking the dpi scaling box.

That was the quickest and easiest attempt to fix, Arvid. Sadly, it did not work.

    Found the answer:

    http://www.tested.com/tech/pcs/460553-problem-high-ppi-windows-display-scaling/

Drop resolution to 1080 and scaling to 150% ... and everything becomes at least readable.

wow that's pretty obscure.  seems like a waste of that great resolution.

    It's got a 13.3" viewing screen and 3200x1800 resolution.

That may have something to do with it.

I was going to say, but it looks like you figured this out, You would use 1080 on any screen that small.
Resolutions beyond that only work on screens that are like 20" etc.
