The RMS auto-gain feature looks interesting.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Yeah, I can't wait to demo. I guess it will work a lot like the autogain on his Vu meter, which I have and also like.

Do you mean like Autogain Pro? It has an internal reference, or you can use an external source such as the drum bus. The Vu Meter has an autogain feature for setting the level for gain staging.

I am looking for a an auto gain type function that works on the contents of a single mono or 2 track where there is no other content. I asked elsewhere in this section but I saw that coincidentally there was some discussion about auto gain happening here. I saw you and Bit mention this type feature with several Hornet items and so I am curious about which might be appropriate for the task I am asking about. Thank you!

Thanks Clint, For me, the time it takes to prepare to install a demo is the biggest factor that makes me hesitate to add stuff to my tool box. I much prefer to know I want something, buy it, and get the backup/install/backup process finished as quickly as possible. It sure seems like Hornet makes something that will do what I hope. I was thinking Auto Gain Pro might be it.

Autogain Pro would compare to Vocal and bass Rider by waves from what I've read. I don't own any Waves products so take that FWIW.
