How to install sonar mp3 encoder if I lost the pro audio 9 disk?

Hi gang...

I'm installing x3 for a friend on a new PC and he's lost his pa9 disk. His account shows PA9 as well as the mp3 encoder, but no download link and no instructions...

Can anyone give me any more info?

Thanks...
Keni

The ProAudio 9 disk no longer works, your friend needs to contact support for a link to the new unlock program.

Its on sale now for $9.99.  I would just buy it which I just did. You will never have to buy it again. I also have Pro Audio 9.

Is the Sonar mp3 encoder a better option than just using cdex?

The sonar mp3 encoder pops up a dialog for selecting the mp3 settings while using the external encoder requires making separate entries for each mp3 format you wish to use...

No other differences that I know of...

I just setup lame 3.99 at 192 in a few minutes for him to use until we can get the sonar encoder installed... Works just fine...

    Hi Sidroe...

What is this and where can it be found? Is it more versatile than the sonar encoder's dialog? I mean, what else is there to an mp3 other than the options the dialog contains?

    Thanks!

    Hi, keni,
    You'll find it here: http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/66927-aarons-sonar-mp3-patch-v564/

    Thanks Atsuko...

It looks very interesting... Almost like a long overdue update to the Sonar interface. Does it let you select mp3 options on the fly? I don't understand the add/remove all options..

    I use lame.

setup a 128 and 320 kbps option in SOANR drop down list.

No more thinking if I export from SONAR.

If I want full control over my mp3 from WAV there is WinLame (free).

    Thanks Bapu...

I usually use 320 myself, but I don't see it listed as an option so I set him up with 192... Will it simply accept the 320 parameter if I make it so?

WinLame? Is this similar to Aaron's?

WinLame is a standalone tool outside of SONAR.

Yes, when I set it up I entered 320 in the command line. Not at my DAW but I will try to remember to share the setup later tonight.

Hi, Keni, I found this short tutorial on the Aaron's Mp3 Patch: (http://aaron-s-sonar-mp3-patch.software.informer.com/). I think you have many options on the fly, maybe Sidroe will pass by and give some more information.  I don't actually use it because I have the Mp3 encoder.
