A Book Every Professional Musician Will Acknowledge

Backstage Passes and Backstabbing Bastards: Memoirs of a Rock 'n' Roll Survivorby Al Kooper

I have been an Al Kooper fan from the first time I heard him and Michael Bloomfield play on the radio way back in the ... well never mind, it was a long, long time ago. I managed to get a copy of this book and once I began to read it there was no putting it down. I lent my copy to a friend and he did the same as me. If you have ever been to a concert or more still played in one, or tried to get a record deal of any kind, then you will recognise and sympathise what this amazing musician did and had done to him.
I have no personal interest in the book, I am not promoting it for anyone but along with "When Giants Walked the Earth" the Led Zeppelin story, this is the best real life story of life as a professional musician that I have read.

Also Blood, Sweat and Tears and he played organ on some classic Bob Dylan tracks.
