Looking for advice on crashing - finish project first or update to X3e now?
Hey ya'll. So i'm getting some crashed near the end of some tunes that have large amounts of plugins and tracks.
If i do a bounce (mixdown) to track, or play the song live, or do a slow bounce (32bit or 64bit) i get the same thing.
A bounce will end before completion and announce that it had to abort the process.
A playback of the project will drop out and stop playing at the same point in the tune(s).
I have X3c.
So i have an idea - i want to update to X3e and see if the crashes continue.
The problem is, i am in the middle of finishing an album project (final mixes), and want to know if it's a good idea to switch to X3e from X3c mid stream? On the other hand if it doesn't help, nothing is lost.
I just don't want to make matters any worse...
Should i update to X3e hoping it might fix the crashes, or sort out the crashing and finish the album before updating to avoid additional issues? What would you do?

I would. Others may think differently. Actually, I don't see what you have to lose.
If you do decide to update be sure to reset and rescan your plugins.
Best

I would update to X3e. This is different than upgrading versions mid-project which I would not recommend.

Update to X3e. This is the best version that I've use so far.

Ok, thanks guys. If it did make things worse, not that it's likely, can i roll back to X3c fairly easily?

Set a system restore point before updating. Update to X3e, run the project, see what happens.
If it's better, cool.
If it's worse, roll back to the system restore point.
If there's no change, keep X3e because it will offer other benefits that may not be initially obvious with your current project.
