Perhaps a Bug In Record Comp?

I didn't want to run away off with another post called
Comping Questions
so here's a new one on a similar subject.

I had to re-install X3 Producer.  When completed I recorded some vocals and re-recorded them  a few times. I noted that prior vocals were not muted.  I took a look at the "record" settings and found the box called "comp" checked.  I understand that when checked, prior recordings are supposedly automatically muted.  This time, I am 98% certain they were not. I went into the overwrite mode to mute the prior recordings.  I mention this only to suggest that perhaps a bug exists.

Added edit ...  I know that sometime during the re-install I updated the Sonar X3 with X3e. It may have been after my experiencing the  problem that I suggested may be a bug.   I just re-checked and the comp setting seems to function properly.
