EZdrummer - "cannot find the sound files!" question - Solved

Does anyone know where the EZdrummer plug might be looking for the sound files? I know where the sound files are, but opening the EZdrummer plug-in within Sonar gives me the error, "EZdrummer cannot find the sound files! Re-install EZdrummer or move the sounds to: UninstalledPlug

I'm on Windows 8.1 64 and Sonar X3e (Build 352).

The error looks to be EZ drummer's error, but the standalone Toontrack Solo 32 works fine.

The plug-in obviously shows as installed, I've tried re-installing, and even attempting to move the sound file folders to other places, but I'm not sure how to find where it's looking.

Any ideas?

I would advise you to look at the version number of EZdrummer in the standalone and compare it to the one in SONAR.  If they don't match then there is a possibility that you have two versions of EZdrummer on your machine and SONAR is using the wrong one.  When this happens it's usually because the user has dragged and dropped the EZdrummer DLL into a different folder than it was installed into.

The fix would be to uninstall EZdrummer, search the hardrive(s) and remove any remaining EZdrummer DLLs and install it again.

It wasn't clear that you download the latest version, but THEN download and install the updates. This was an issue of 64-Bit Sonar installation and 32-Bit EZDrummer. EZDrummer's update adds 64-Bit capability. After this, you may have to run Sonar as Administrator to allow the .dll plug-in to find the sound files. This isn't so different than having to run Dimension Pro 1.5 as Administrator to activate it without the error, "Invalid Registration Code". I'm good now. Thanks!
