Beatscape Basics

Hello all...
Does anyone have link available to the basics of BEATSCAPE ? I can't even figure out how to get it to record any of the pads once I load them in, either MIDI or audio.

Even with Scott Garrigus' power book, I've been unable to figure out the most basic aspects of this synth, so I can use it in my projects. Simple stuff, I'm sure. But not for me apparently.
THX

Simon Cann's book :

Cakewalk Synthesizers: From Presets to Power User Paperback – December 11, 2009

Chapter 12 is on Beatscape, but I don't have my copy handy so I can't tell you how useful it is.

Thx Kakku, but that just took me to a generic page. Nothing specific. All the other vids I've found on you tube, don't give me the basics I'm looking for either...

This SOS article written by Craig might help...  http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan09/articles/sonarworkshop_0109.htm

Enabling MIDI Output seems to be key for recording the pads.   Assuming everything still works as described in the article, of course, since it's from 2009/SONAR 8.

Thanks so much Kakku and SteveC. I appreciate the info. A preliminary glance at these articles and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find the info I need, when I am able to spend more time with them.
It seems they are much more detailed in the specifics of setup, which is where I think my problem lies.

THX again!

Kind of a bummer they didn't have faith in this app.  You can load 16 channels of REX files vs. 16 instances of Octorex in Reason.

There should be more Beatscape videos on youtube.

I'm not sure if it was so much as lack of faith as much as bad timing. It's kind of like when Apple released the Newton.  The PDA was a great idea, but a flawed product released at the wrong time can kill a product prematurely.   Beatscape had some good ideas, but it was poorly received by it's target audience and then they lost the developer.
